Getting Ready for the Holidays

Our tree may not be big, and our tree may not be fancy, but it sure helps bring the Christmas spirit into our home! When Dillan got home from JRTC I was so excited to get a Christmas tree! We decided to only get a little once since we will be gone for Christmas anyway. I wanted to get a picture of Raider by the tree, but he would not go close to it! Probably because as I was putting it together I told him no the whole time so he knows not to chew it up! This is the closest I could get him.

I told Dillan to sit by the tree so that I could get a picture of both of them together :)
haha Dillan always pulls the funniest faces for pictures! and Raider sure does think he is a lot smaller than he really is!

There's a better picture!

Only 23 more days and we will be home with family and friends!

More about Raider

These past few days have not been so bad. I have actually felt really productive. I have worked, taught Raider a few new tricks, and started some sewing projects. For the last week since I picked up Raider I have noticed that when he gets really excited he sticks his tongue out the side of his mouth. It makes me laugh so hard every time! Today he has been very naughty and got a time out in his room (kennel). After I let him out he was being so good. So I decided that since he was behaving that I would play fetch with him extra long. He kept making his funny face!

Raider also will only eat his food when he is laying down. I have tried to raise his food bowl for him so he is comfortable eating it but he still will only eat it if he is laying down.

I am so glad that I have a dog to keep me company when my husband is gone :)

Fantasy Football

The most exciting thing that happened to me this week (besides getting a dog) was winning my fantasy football match up. Before Dillan left we had a serious talk about how I would manage his team and I wouldn't make him lose on purpose. This past week I was so busy checking his team and making sure all his players with byes were on the bench and the good ones were in, I forgot to check my own team! By Monday evening I realized I forgot to check my team and I hurried to the NFL site to see how much I was winning by haha. I clicked on my team and saw that I accidentally left 3 players in that had byes. I thought to myself there is NO way I won this week. I waited patiently for the games to be over and to my surprise I WON! It wasn't by much but I played one of the best teams in the league and I had left 3 players in that had byes! I am proud of my fantasy team for pulling through and getting me a win this week! Now for this upcoming week... my team is up against my husbands... and guess who is running his team at the moment? Thats right I am! I could for sure make my team win haha but im not that mean!

Our Pup Raider

The day before Dillan left for JRTC I talked him into going to the shelter with me to look at dogs. To make a long story short, we fell in love with one and wanted to adopt him!

This is the face, of a 14 month Mastador that weighs over 100 lbs already, that we fell in love with!

After being told that the land lords didn't want pets in the house I was beyond upset. Every time Dillan calls he asks did you get the dog? I just kept telling him that they said no. I called and emailed the realtors a few times and every time they said they didn't think we could have a dog. Yesterday I woke up to a call saying that the land lords changed their minds and we could have a dog! I went and bought dog food, treats, a leash, a collar, and all that fun stuff! I went and picked up our dog and brought him home finally! He is a big cuddle bug! He thinks that he is a lap dog and can climb all over me! After he sniffed out his new house he sat right at my feet and watched TV as I brushed his fur. Every time I move even an inch he looks to make sure I am not leaving the room. When I do get up to leave he follows right behind me! He is the cutest dog ever! They warned me when we met him that he loves water! They said they fill up a kiddie pool and he splashes through it all day. I didn't believe them until I got in the shower today, turned around and there was Raiders head sticking in the shower through the curtain! It gave me a good laugh! I love how curious he is about everything I do. Hes a perfect fit for our little family.  :)

He loves to look out the back doors. I open up the door for him to go out and he just sits there. He wont go out unless he needs to go potty. He will happily sit at the door or in the door way and gaze out :)

Dillan doesn't know that I got Raider. The last he has heard the land lords were still saying no. I want to surprise him when he comes home! Today when he called he didn't ask if I got him but I was nervous he would hear Raiders paws clanking on the floor behind me. I sure do love this pup and can't wait for him to cuddle Dillan when he gets home!

Lets play the waiting game!

My list of things to do while Dillan is gone is slowly starting to fade away. However a new list is starting to form. Instead of pinterest crafts, cooking, and cleaning, it is turning into, getting dressed, eating food, and keeping my phone on me at all times!

I feel no need to get ready for the day. Lately everyday after I get off work I go to one of my friends house (her husband is gone as well). Our favorite thing to do is either go get dinner and watch movies in our pj's or eat ice cream and watch movies in our pj's. We came to the conclusion that its not worth it to cook when our hubby's are gone. And we are never hungry at all, so when we finally decide we should eat something for the day it usually is junk food. Then the rest of the night we look like this...

once we get phone calls from our hubby's we continue to watch movies and fall asleep.

Our lives have been pretty boring this past week, but at least we have each other for support and strength during the rough days. I feel so blessed to be around such great girls. We definitely can conquer anything together when our husbands are gone :)

And not to mention it always helps when you have great parents to text you until you fall asleep! It for sure has helped to keep my mind occupied when im missing my DH! (thought I would throw some military language in there :))
